Classical Ballet at Northern Dance Academy

Northern Dance Academy offer a wide range of Classical Ballet classes for both Children & Adults. Our timetable includes ISTD Imperial Ballet syllabus classes for those wanting to do examinations as well as technique classes for students who would like to take class to improve technical, musicality & performance skills.

For those children aged 4 years & upwards Northern Dance Academy's children's ballet classes follow the ISTD syllabus however, we do emphasise that examinations are not compulsory & all our students have the option to opt in or out of taking exams. Our timetable also offers syllabus classes for teens & adults for those wanting to continue & develop through the ISTD pathway.

All of our Classical Ballet classes focus on a range of skills including correct technique as well as use of appropriate terminology, musicality, interpretation of accompaniment & performance skills.

All students have the opportunity to perform at least once in the academic year. NDA hold an annual performance in the Summer as well as involvement in other performances such as the Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival, the TakeOver festival at York Theatre Royal as well as charity events.
