Northern Dance Academy offers curriculum focused classes and dedicated to deliver specialised and exciting learning for the Primary National Curriculum. Our educational work is perfect for supporting Pre-school, KS1 and KS2 curriculum. Northern Dance Academy offer Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Latin American based dance classes in many schools across the City of York including The Mount School & Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nurseries.
NDA teachers who deliver curriculum based classes hold relevant teaching credentials including Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), ISTD Imperial Ballet teaching qualification and MA Degree in Education qualifications.

NDA educational work strikes an inclusive balance between education and enjoyment. We pride ourselves on the ability to combine both the organisation and participants needs in appropriate ways to deliver dance in context to issues as age, cultural background, ability and group dynamics.

Pre-School & Early Years Work

Through movement skills, our pre-school and early year’s classes encourage the discovery of new ideas and experiences. The onset of a young child’s journey into education is important that they are given a positive start. The aim of this work is to develop coordination, confidence and fine motor skills whilst enabling each student to create positive relationships and develop their emotional and social well-being.
